Of course every weekend is BIG on Radio Saltire but this one just happens to be BIGGER than most!
We’ve got a schedule revamp, 3 (yes THREE!) new shows and we’re providing music for a charity event in Prestonpans.
First that revamp. We needed to make some room for our new shows, so there’s been a couple of changes to the schedule. The biggest of these is the return of The GREAT Golden Oldies Show with Andy Morris on Saturday afternoon. Andy’s been itching to get back to the classic tracks he loves. He announced his move from his Wednesday slot earlier in the week and the requests have been poring in ever since. The Wednesday slot’s been filled by David Caldwell who’s Brunch show is now live five days a week.
After a guest slot on Scott Gillies Sunday Roast a couple of weeks ago, Iain Swanston decided to come out of retirement and present once more. Iain, creator of Edinburgh’s pirate station Radio Telstar will be live in our studio every Saturday afternoon. His show, Ultimate 70’s, follows Andy Morris at 3pm.
Katherine G joins Radio Saltire on Sunday at 1pm. To make room for our new Sunday shows, Mike Harding Country has been moved to 10pm.
Following Katherine is Kevin Hall’s Movie Moments. Kevin brings us the very best of those tunes made popular by TV and the Movies. His themed shows kicked off with James Bond last weekend. This weekend he’s taking on the Musicals
Out and About
And that’s not all! Outside the studio, Radio Saltire will be at the Dad’s Rock funday on Saturday. This event is at Prestonpans Primary School between 10am and Noon. Dad’s Rock is Scotland’s only network of playgroups for Kids and Dad’s, find out more by popping into this free event.
In case you missed Scott’s post yesterday, David Dickson from Macmerry Men’s Shed will be in the studio on Scott’s Sunday Roast. Macmerry Men’s Shed is a group for Gentlemen over 60. They do all sorts of things and are open to new members. Listen in to find out more!
