If your hair is greyer than it used to be,
And have wrinkles where they shouldn’t be;
You ache in places you cannot see,
But love the music that used to be;
Why not travel back in time with me?

This Saturday and EVERY Saturday at Noon with the GREAT Golden Oldies Show.

Coming up this week:

I will be reminiscing about and playing some of the music ‘Tony Irvine and the Typhoons’ (my old band) covered back in the 60’s. These tracks include ‘I Got You Babe’ from Sony & Cher, ‘1-2-3’ by Len Barry and Chuck Berry’s ‘Reelin’ and Rockin’’.

We will highlight 1980 with this week’s ‘Favourite Year’ chosen by Alan and Wendy from Falkirk and continue our ‘Chart Watch’ with the UK top singles chart from October 1984. New entries this week include ‘Smooth Operator’ from Sade, ‘All Cried Out’ by Alison Moyet and the Stranglers with ‘Skin Deep’

As usual, you will get the opportunity to enter the ’Spot The TV Show that Grannie Used to Watch’ Competition and be in with a chance to win a rare Radio Saltire Car Sticker and I will also slot in our ‘Children’s Favourite’ and take some of you back to your youth to see if you still remember the words to a song that was always being played on the wireless back then at a time when you were somewhat younger than you are now.

It all kicks off at noon on Saturday – so join me if you can.
Put the kettle on, sit down and relax.
I’ll do the rest.

P.S.
If you would like a request or a dedication – or pick a ‘Favourite Year’ – a year that means something to you, you can email me 24/7 at andrew@radiosaltire.org
