This week I have lined up a great show for you.

The ‘Artist of the Week’ is Cat Stevens. His music was always being played on the radio back in the 60’s and 70’s and he recorded some fabulous tracks including the likes of ‘Morning Has Broken’, ‘Peace Train’ and ‘Father and Son’. I’ll be playing half a dozen or so of his hits throughout the show.

The ‘Classical Corner’ spot features the ‘Masquerade Waltz’ by Arum Khachaturian which featured in the film ‘War & Peace’. So if you’re a classical music dummy like me, listen in as I have researched it and I’ll tell you what I found out about before playing it at around 11.30.

We’ll take our usual peep back in history at 10.30 with the help of Howard’s fabulous website ‘Beautiful Britain’ and discover what had happened here in the UK on 25th. June in years past and there is yet another chance to win a Radio Saltire Car Sticker in our free competition – ‘Spot The TV Show That Grannie Used To Watch’ by identifying the show from a very short piece of the signature tune that I will play.

No guest this week so I will be indulging in some great music – embracing a glorious mix of Golden Oldies, more recent and chart hits.

Join me if you can on Wednesday morning from 10.00 am.
