Unfortunately, my studio guest this week has had to call off because of a health problem. Hopefully, he will soon recover and be able to join me in a future show – but for this week at least, I’m going to be left to my own devices.

So, what do I have up my sleeve for you?

Well, apart from the usual features, I will be having a second look at some of the Best of the Losers from this year’s Eurovision Song Contest which took place last Saturday. Unusually for this competition, particularly in recent years, there were some creditable entries, many of which were more than capable of winning. I have selected a few that I thought were the best of the bunch and will be giving them another airing before they disappear without trace. It’s quite surprising how good some of them sound when you hear the studio versions which are not contaminated by inane audience and commentator interruptions…!

The ‘Classic Corner’ this week features an old Irish Air from Londonderry. Its origins have been lost in the mists of time but it was ‘discovered’ again in the mid 19th. century and since then has become a favourite all around the world in its many guises. It certainly ticks all the boxes as far as I’m concerned so I have researched it and will be sharing what I found out – and listening to a couple of versions of it at about 11.30.

We will be taking a look back in history at around 10.30 in our ‘On this Day’ spot when I will be discovering just what has happened on May 13th. here in the UK with some help as usual from Howard and his fantastic website Beautiful Britain.

This week’s ‘Artists of the Week’ are ELO and I’ll be playing some of their fabulous music including tracks like ‘All Over The World’, ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ and ‘Mr. Blue Sky’.

The show’s competition to win a Radio Saltire Car Sticker centres this week on the question:

Who is the current Leader of East Lothian Council?

(Clue) He was a guest of mine a few weeks ago.

Simply let me know during the show by emailing me at or text me on 07 5 07 33 22 44
If you get the question right, your name will go into the hat and we will draw three lucky winners out at 12.45 pm.

Let us know who you are and give us a contact number so we can call you to find out where to send the sticker.

So it’s not looking at all bad – and there are worse places to be on a Tuesday morning, believe me.

Hey, and don’t forget: – If you want a mention on the show, a birthday greeting perhaps, a dedication or a request, you can reach me 24/7 at

Join me, Andy Morris, if you can – from 10.00 am and into the afternoon every Tuesday.
