He has taught students agricultural technology in Mozambique, worked for twelve years for Oxfam organising for social justice against poverty around the world, has held four different Ministerial posts within the Scottish Government, led the Labour Party in Scotland and is currently the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth – and of course, MSP for East Lothian.
He is Iain Gray – and he is my guest this week on ‘AM into the PM’

Iain Gray
Find out what makes him tick, his ideals, aspirations and a little bit about the Iain Gray that is behind the public persona.

I will also be talking to Mark Coyle who is a qualified Audiologist based in Edinburgh about an event coming up this coming Friday aimed at raising the awareness of undiagnosed hearing loss. Breakfast TVs Dr, Hilary Jones is teaming up with high street hearing specialists Hidden Hearing to host an all-day event at the Caledonian Hotel in the city to which the public are invited to attend.

It is estimated that there are over 82,00 people in the Scotland’s Capital alone affected by hearing loss and of those some 33,000 are undiagnosed

There will be the usual features including the Classical Corner, which this week features a famous piece by Rossini; there’s a look back at ‘This Day in History’ c/o Howard’s superb website ‘Beautiful Britain’ and of course and as usual, our popular weekly competition where you get the chance to win a Radio Saltire Car Sticker, which have been described as ‘useful as a spare wheel’.

Our featured artist this week is Billy Joel who wrote and recorded some classic tracks that have stood the test of time and remain as popular today as they did back in the 80’s

So join me, Andy Morris, on Tuesday morning from 10.00am (GMT) – and into the afternoon.

‘AM into the PM’: The show that’s so good, I may stay at home and listen in myself.
