East Lothian Foodbank LogoThe trustees of East Lothian Foodbank are inviting anyone with an interest in its work to join them at the charity’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 13th November 2013.

The AGM is being held at the Foodbank’s new base at the old Tranent Library at 3 Civic Square, starting at 7pm. It will discuss the progress the Foodbank has made over the last 12 months and provide an opportunity for those attending to ask questions about its work.

East Lothian Foodbank Chair James Bruce said:

East Lothian Foodbank has made real progress over the last 12 months and is now well established at its new base in Tranent. We have a very effective Project Co-ordinator and dedicated team of volunteers in place and have helped hundreds of local people in need since we started work at the end of last year.

The AGM is an opportunity for everyone with an interest in the Foodbank’s work to come along and hear more about what we have been doing and what we are planning for the future. We are very keen to see as many people as possible there and hear ideas about how we can best continue the charity’s development to benefit even more people in the future.

Foodbank Trustee Robin Hill said:

We are very pleased to have made significant strides forward as an organisation over the last year. To go from being a completely new and largely unknown charity, to one that is providing tangible help to people facing food insecurity and embedded in the local community, is a major achievement.

However, none of this would have been possible without the immense help and support we have received from communities and groups throughout East Lothian. The Foodbank’s trustees are enormously grateful to local people for this wonderful support. We really want to continue and enhance the positive engagement that has taken place so far and will welcome anyone who is interested in our work joining us at the AGM on 13th

Trustees are requesting that anyone who wishes to attend the AGM let them know by email at info@eastlothian.foodbank.org.uk

Supporters of the Foodbank are also being encouraged to consider becoming members of the charity, which will give them the right to vote at the AGM. Membership is free and a form can be obtained by email.
