Appeal For Witnesses
Officers from Police Scotland in Tranent are appealing for witnesses following a break-in and theft from a sheltered housing complex in the town last Friday (October 18th, 2013).
The theft took place around 4.30am when a man broke in through an unlocked window and stole items from the kitchen of a house at Loch Square.
He disturbed the elderly and disabled occupant and made off in the direction of Blawearie Road.
Inspector Andrew Harborow said:
This was a despicable act which has upset the elderly lady and the other residents at this sheltered housing complex. Door to door enquiries in the area and a review of local CCTV is ongoing, I am now appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to call the police on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
